Person Centred Autism Teaching (PCAT) was developed by NT&AS to promote the NT&AS process and ethos in supporting people with an ASC diagnosis. NT&AS believes that people can all be different and belong fully within an inclusive society. NT&AS team members are trained to understand the social model of disability and to celebrate neurodiversity. NT&AS is committed to the education and social inclusion of all children and young people.
- 1:1 teaching and family support that accepts children, young people and adults as individual
- Multi agency planning focusing upon the strengths and abilities of the individual
- Risk assessment that supports participation while protecting young people from harm
- Training for teachers and other professionals
NT&AS team members work closely with families and listen carefully to your ambitions for your child. We work with you to plan and we learn from you so that we are able to meet your child’s needs. We aim to further the successes you have already achieved using approaches that have worked while using our organisation’s knowledge and experience to build success.
We provide advice and support for schools helping you to use your skills to support young people and provide planning and advice to promote inclusion. NT&AS maintains a focus upon future achievement to overcome immediate barriers and promote inclusion and ambition.
Successful multi agency working is essential in meeting the needs of children and young people with an ASC diagnosis. NT&AS has worked with social care and health professionals for over 15 years and we are able to contribute to the development of integrated models of working. We are also able to provide training and support for parents and foster carers or other professionals.
