NT&AS Auditing Service

The NT&AS offers an auditing service to local authorities to help them to determine how they are performing in relation to the education of Looked After Children and children in need and how to improve services and outcomes.
The audits we carry out address questions such as:

How are the Looked After Children in the authority performing educationally?

Is the authority meeting its targets in relation to the education of Looked After Children?

Are progressively higher targets likely to be met?

How effective are the educational services provided for Looked After Children?

How can their effectiveness be improved? Are they value for money?

Are there better ways of organising or delivering services?

What do Looked After Children themselves think of their educational opportunities?

Audits are tailor-made to suit the individual needs of Local Education Authorities and Social Services Departments, and the content and emphasis is discussed and agreed in advance.
