NT&AS ASBO Work

NT&AS has recently been working closely with a large inner city local authority, one of the “Trailblazer” councils in the UK with the responsibility for leading the way on Anti-Social Behaviour Orders. In a recent meeting with a Government Minister, it was agreed that this authority is leading the agenda nationally on challenging anti-social families work, and is about 5 years ahead of other local authorities. Whereas every other authority is working on the enforcement side of work, it is the only authority to be granted the approval of the Home Office to consider early intervention and prevention too.

As part of this authority's innovative approach to dealing with anti-social behaviour in their Trailblazer ASBO Project, NT&AS has:

  • provided detailed analysis of anti-social families;

  • in each case produced a critique of the historical agency input;

  • contributed to the planning for multi-agency input to ASB cases;

  • promoted multi-agency approaches to anti-social families with a strong emphasis on prevention;

  • assisted the local authority to set up a structure of close collaboration, acknowledging the absolute centrality of education.

NT&AS are continuing to work with this authority in this increasingly important area, and welcome any enquiries from other local authorities as to how we can help you. Please contact Lloyd Powell on 0845 373 6886.
